Editorial Policy
How AdultRankly decides what belongs in the directory, separates editorial decisions from ordering, and handles corrections.
Scope
AdultRankly is an independent directory of adult websites for adults. It organizes destinations by category, summarizes what the available catalog evidence supports, and links out. It does not host, produce, or distribute adult content.
How sites are selected
A listing starts with a destination that can be tied to an official domain and a product or catalog a category can describe.
Keyword demand alone does not create category fit. Duplicate records are merged, and records that cannot be tied to a usable destination should not remain canonical listings.
How listings are checked
For reviewed entries, AdultRankly records an official URL, access model, category placement, verification date, and review copy. Claims are limited to what the catalog or destination presentation supports rather than filled in to satisfy a template.
Favicons and preview images are served from AdultRankly's own local assets and used to identify or preview a listing in an editorial context.
Handling errors
Visitors can report wrong categories, dead links, changed access models, affiliate mismatches, or inaccurate descriptions through the Contact page. A temporary connection failure is not treated as proof that a destination has permanently closed.
Review updates
Each review page carries a stored verification date. It is not automatically changed by a rebuild. Category pages show the most recent stored verification month among their listings.
Automation and AI assistance
Drafting assistance, including AI tooling, may help structure information. Factual claims should stay within what the destination or catalog supports. Traffic figures, pricing, update frequency, licensing, consent, safety, or similar claims are not added as facts when the project does not contain evidence for them.
Quality control
The build checks structural catalog errors such as duplicate canonical domains, duplicate slugs, invalid URLs, missing category references, thin review excerpts, placeholder text, and malformed affiliate URLs. Other conditions such as missing screenshots, repeated excerpts, and cross-host affiliate links are surfaced as warnings for review rather than automatically treated as proof of an error.
Category placement is editorial. In-category ordering is not a second editorial score: it follows the deterministic search-interest and access-tier rules described on the How We Rank page. Commercial relationships do not override either category fit or that ordering rule.
