Inside Rule 34 App
The project behind it is open source under an AGPL license and ships as a Progressive Web App, so it installs to a home screen and behaves like a native app instead of living in a browser tab.
Aggregation is the organizing idea. Posts remain hosted on the upstream boards while r34.app re-presents them through a mobile-first interface, with tag search run against whichever source you select.
Content and navigation
A query like Slime Rancher or Atomic Heart returns a paginated mix of clips, animations, and stills drawn from the board you chose, and individual posts can be streamed or downloaded. Results therefore mirror what those imageboards actually carry rather than a private, curated collection.
Access in practice
In practice the app runs on any device with a modern browser — Android and iOS phones, Windows and macOS desktops, and most game consoles, including PlayStation and Xbox — which makes it a natural fit for phone-first viewing or hardware where app stores are out of reach. The core app is free to use, and the site layers a premium subscription on top that gates extra features for anyone who wants them.
